Remembering who we were (Short Story)

recently i had began to have weird dreams, ones i could not ignore and i needed to speak to someone about it.

so i asked one of the elders i respected a lot to make some time to speak to me after the meeting one night.

i knew it would be a conversation that would take awhile, so i told my family to drive in a separate car, which allowed me not to worry about how long they were waiting for me.

we started attending the wakefield r.i. kh after the marriage.

at the first meeting i went to, "buddy" weber came up to greet me.

he had left a very good job in seattle (he had his own radio talk show) and was now a janitor, living were the need was greatest, at the time r.i had the worst publisher to normal people ratio in the counrty 1 to 1600. i'm just standing there listening to him as he is giving me the "what he has done for jehovah story" what his "spiritual credentials" are, how wonderful his kids are, were they were pioneering, how he had givien up a good job so he could serve the lord my cleaning windows in rhode island............because the end was coming soon in 1975, just a few months away blah blah.......blah.......it reminded me, so much how the jws love to martyr themselfs and how much they say "we are all equal".......but on the other hand, they love poistions, that deep down inside they believe that some are really better then others and that they are working there way into the "new system".

How polite are you?

often i'm following someone into a building and entering the same door, and most of the times, the person in front won't even try to keep the door open so that it wont close in my face.

knowing that someone is right behind me, i'll even wait a second or two and hold the door open for that person.

i guess it has to do with being well educated.

Hubby and I are about to have 3 major life changes.....Whew!

first news is that we are going to be moving to nc from tx in the next couple months....we are so happy about that!

hubby grew up there, and we have his family there.

hubby got a new job with in his company, so he will be learning new things and meeting new people....a good change for him.. and the biggest....we are likely to get full custody of his 3 and 5 year old girls...and move them with us.

What is the borg saying about the internet?

while speaking to my mom about some of the information i got on the wbts she asked me if i got my info off the internet.

my mother does not own a computer and wouldn't know how the internet works.

her question was very unusual for her.

It's so sad! Without the info I found on the net I would still be feeling guilty for not going back to the borg. Even though I have not been to meetings for about 8 or 9 years I still thought they had the "truth" until I came across all this info.

While speaking to my mom about some of the information I got on the WBTS she asked me if I got my info off the internet. My mother does not own a computer and wouldn't know how the internet works. Her question was very unusual for her. I was just wondering if the GB are pointing to the internet as a cause for concern among the active JW's? Have there been lots of talks on the dangers of searching for info on the net?
